Equilibrium

I thought life was all about accomplishments, getting things done, achieving. Then I learned it is safe to slow down, to listen, to allow, to receive. I prided myself on being a problem solver, then discovered the magic that flows when you drop agenda and step into the mystery with an open curiosity. I am filing my days of fixing, (myself and anyone else) judging, (myself and anyone else) and controlling, (myself and anyone else) into the category of my past path of learning.

I step into my present moment and my future with open arms, trusting the ancient Breath of Life to flow though me and to guide me as my growth and understanding continues, expands, and leads me to a life of service and satisfaction and completion, over and over and over again.

I have a deep appreciation for those who are dedicating their lives to help others embody this peace. Those who are calling upon an ancient wisdom, trusting that miraculous and normal flow of life, and surrendering to the magic that unfolds as they do. I feel called to follow the energy of those who live in that paradigm.

A friend recently told me that ego wants to fix, awareness only wants to be deeply present. I believe the greatest gift we can give another is our presence and our acceptance of who they are, how they are and our listening to how life is going for them. Its not our business to interfere with their experience. Yet, our listening, without agenda, without attempt to fix, can create the conditions for the other person to heal themselves. Their own bodies know the proper tempo and our simply being with them doesn’t rush or override that tempo.

This same friend shared with me that being totally present to someone or something is like a prayer of gratitude. Our presence, our wonder, our curiosity, and even our slowing down enough to take in the beauty of a rock or a tree or a child can fill us with a sense of aliveness like nothing else.

Who knew we could calm ourselves enough to tap into a beautiful, calm, clear, intuitive insight that is ever flowing through us. All we need do is surrender. It’s not how I’ve lived most of my life AND I am committed to stepping into the unknown with faith that the magical stepping stones will appear and guide me home to myself.
